Ethics review
Research involving human participants must report the ethics committee, approval reference and date, and applicable ethical framework. Where approval is not required or was waived, provide the authority and reason. Approval cannot be inferred from retrospective review or from the act of publication.
Editorial assessment
Editors may request the approval document, protocol, and participant information. Remove unnecessary identifiers from submissions. Studies with unresolved ethical concerns are not accepted.
